persist的基本意思是盡管遭到反對,受到警告或遇到失敗,還是固執(zhí)地堅(jiān)持自己的信念、行為,導(dǎo)致令人遺憾的后果,用于不好或不正確的一面。

persist一般用作不及物動詞,有時也可用作及物動詞。作及物動詞時,可接that從句,意思是“繼續(xù)說,堅(jiān)持說,反復(fù)說”。若表示“堅(jiān)持該怎么做”時,從句的謂語動詞要用虛擬語氣,即(should)+動詞原形; 作不及物動詞時,可表示盡管有不利條件,非常艱難,但還頑強(qiáng)地繼續(xù)存在。persist與in而不與on連用,與in連用,表示“堅(jiān)持繼續(xù)做某事”, in后可接 v -ing; 與with連用,表示“堅(jiān)持…”。
