chat的基本意思是輕松、無拘無束地、愉快地、語流松散地、不假思索地談話,一般作“聊天,閑談”解。

chat只用作不及物動詞,“閑談”的內(nèi)容常由介詞about引出,“閑談”的對方常用介詞to或with引出。

chat與over連用，表示“一邊…一邊聊天”。

chat作“閑聊,聊天”解時,是可數(shù)名詞,偶爾可作不可數(shù)名詞,意思是“說長道短”。

chat后常接about引出閑聊的內(nèi)容,接with引出與之閑談的“對方”。
