participate的基本意思是“參加,參與”,一般指去參加較正式的活動(dòng)和莊重的場(chǎng)合,參與或享有某事物的一部分,如一項(xiàng)事業(yè)、一次經(jīng)歷等。在現(xiàn)代英語(yǔ)中一般多用作不及物動(dòng)詞。也可用作及物動(dòng)詞,接名詞或代詞作賓語(yǔ)。

participate也可常與介詞in或with連用,這兩種用法均屬較正式的英語(yǔ)。
