thus的基本意思是“如此,這樣,以此方式”。

thus也可作“其結(jié)果是,因此,于是”解。

thus在句中用作狀語,常修飾整個(gè)句子,可用在句首、句中或句末,也可用在系動(dòng)詞或助動(dòng)詞的后面。

thus也可以用來引出未知信息,這種用法多屬書面語。

張道真先生在《英語語法大全》中(上,P844)把thus看作是推論連詞。
