remind有“remind+主語+不定式”的格式，表示提醒某人做某事。 He reminded me to write the letter.他提醒我寫信。

remind...of...表示“某物或某人使我們想起過去，或是想起忘掉的事情”，of后加名詞或動名詞。 She reminded me of writing the letter.她使我想起寫過那封信。 The smell of hay always reminds me of our old house in the country.甘草的味道總是令我想起了我們在鄉(xiāng)村的老房子。

remind的賓語后能接that或how引導(dǎo)的從句。 He reminded me that I ought to do it at once.他提醒我應(yīng)該現(xiàn)在就去做這件事。 He reminded me how careful I ought to be in doing it.他提醒我在做這事的時候應(yīng)如何小心。

結(jié)構(gòu)A remind B，C指“A在外貌上像C，因此使B見到A就想起C”。這個用法也適用于比喻中。 You remind me Marry.你和瑪麗很像，見到你讓我想起了她。 He reminded me of a monkey.他很像猴子，使我見了他就想起猴子。

remind同remember意思不同，remind是“使某人remember（想起）某事或某物”，而remember指“記得，記住”。

remind的基本意思是指通過一定的媒介或激發(fā)而慢慢想起某事(做過或應(yīng)做某事)。這事可以是全然忘卻的,也可以是一時想不起來的; 這媒介則是引起人們回憶的外界人或事物。

remind只用作及物動詞,可接名詞或代詞作賓語,也可接雙賓語,其直接賓語可由帶或不帶疑問詞的動詞不定式、that從句或以疑問詞引導(dǎo)的從句充當。

remind常和介詞of連用,表示“提醒注意未來的事”或“使想起過去的事”的內(nèi)容, of的賓語可以是名詞、動名詞,也可以是疑問詞引導(dǎo)的從句。

remind作“提醒”解時與remind about同義,其主語只能是人,作“使想起”解時主語通常是事物。

remind sb of sth/ v -ing/wh-clause屬雙賓語結(jié)構(gòu), of引起的短語是直接賓語,可以把remind sb that/wh-clause中的從句看作是其前省略了介詞of。
