The year of 1649 was the last year that the local people gun for Aepyornis. 1649年，是當?shù)鼐用衲軌虿稓⒌铰▲B的最后一年。

Since then, humans cannot find the track of Aepyornis any more.Therefore, its name for the world’s biggest bird was given to ostrich because of the interference of human beings. 自此以后，人類再也沒有發(fā)現(xiàn)過任何隆鳥的足跡，它的世界第一大鳥的稱號也在人類的干涉之下讓給了鴕鳥。

“Aepyornis” means birds with high-up body. “隆鳥”的意思即是“高高凸起的鳥”。
