growl的基本含義是“吼”,可指狗等發(fā)怒時(shí)“嚎叫”、雷聲等“轟鳴”,也可指人“咆哮著說”,指因某事而發(fā)怒以至說話時(shí)非常激動(dòng)。

growl多用作不及物動(dòng)詞,也可用作及物動(dòng)詞,用作不及物動(dòng)詞時(shí),后接抽象名詞或that引導(dǎo)的從句作賓語。也可引出直接引語。
