fond可指“喜歡,愛”,表達的是一種時間極長的,相對穩(wěn)定的情感,也可指“多情的,溫柔的”,還可指過度的愛和不明智的愛,即“溺愛的”“癡情的”。

fond作“喜歡的,喜愛的”解時在句中多用作表語,常與of連用,后接名詞、代詞或動名詞,接動名詞時或指不良習(xí)慣,不與動詞不定式連用, fond of也可用作定語,這時須放在所修飾詞的后面。

fond在表示“溺愛的”“癡情的”“盲目輕信的”時在句中用作定語。

fond常用于肯定句中,可加very, awfully, enthusiastically, exceedingly, passionately等副詞修飾,以加強語氣,但前面不可加much或very much修飾。
