dictation的基本意思是指“老師朗讀,學生聽寫”或“上級口授,下級記錄”這樣雙方向的動作。是抽象名詞,不可數(shù)。dictation還可指具體的“聽寫測驗”和“聽寫或口授的內容”,這時是可數(shù)名詞。dictation引申還可指“命令”。

dictation在作“照口述寫下來”解時,其前一般加介詞from,有時也可加to或at。

在take〔have〕 dictation中dictation前通常不加不定冠詞a。
