He is to continue as manager. 他要繼續(xù)當(dāng)經(jīng)理。

We will continue with the payments for another year. 我們這樣的報酬還要再維持一年。

Wet weather may continue for a few more days. 多雨的天氣可能還要持續(xù)好幾天。

still continue是個很多余的用法，應(yīng)該避免，去掉still，用continue就可以了；

continue一般后面常接不定式，比較普遍，而很少用現(xiàn)在分詞。不過在作及物動詞時，把現(xiàn)在分詞看做動名詞也是可以的。 The baby continued to cry all night.這個嬰兒一晚上都在哭。

continue后面接不定式或者現(xiàn)在分詞，都解釋為“不停地……”而不是“停止后繼續(xù)……”的意思。 The baby continued to cry (或crying) all night.句子不可改為The baby continued to cry (或 crying) at eleven o'clock。

continue解釋為“(在停止后）繼續(xù)……”的時候，后接的賓語常有story， article， narrative，discourse，journey等。 The author will continue the story in another volume.這個作加會在另一冊中繼續(xù)這個故事。

continue作不及物動詞時，后常接表語。 Her temper continued uncertain.她的脾氣持續(xù)不穩(wěn)定。

continue的基本意思是“繼續(xù)”,指動作或狀態(tài)的繼續(xù)或持續(xù)不中斷。可表示一件事一直在做,中間沒有停歇; 也可以表示中間有一個中斷,又接著做下去。

continue可用作不及物動詞,也可用作及物動詞。用作及物動詞時可接名詞、動名詞、動詞不定式或that從句作賓語,也可以接as短語充當(dāng)補足語的復(fù)合賓語。continue還可引出直接引語。

continue還可用作系動詞,接(to be+) adj. 或as+ n. 作表語, to be常可以省略。
