differ的基本意思是指種類、性質、意見上不一致,有差異或持異議。
differ是不及物動詞,常接不同介詞表示各種附加意義。接介詞about〔on〕可表示對某問題有異議; 接in可表示在某方面有異議; 接with則表示“不同意(某人)或某種意見”。
differ通常不用于進行體,但在表示習慣性場合下可以用,與一般現(xiàn)在時相比時,意思相差不大,僅僅感情有別。例如: He is always differing with his classmates.He often differs with his classmates.前者帶有感情,后者是客觀陳述,無個人情緒在內。
