v.(動詞)assert的基本意思是“堅持”“斷言”,即做主觀的、自信的、有說服力的闡述。這種“主張”或“斷言”盡管有時并無憑據(jù),但是要讓別人相信自己的話是有依據(jù)的,或要別人對憑據(jù)感興趣。
assert是及物動詞,接名詞或名詞性從句作賓語,也可以接“to be+ n./adj. ”作補(bǔ)足語的復(fù)合賓語。
