simply的基本意思有兩個:一是“簡單地,簡易地,樸素地”; 二是“僅僅,只不過”。作“簡單”解時可修飾動態(tài)動詞,一般位于句末。作“僅僅”解時可修飾動態(tài)動詞、靜態(tài)動詞、系表結構、形容詞、名詞、介詞短語或從句。

simply作“僅僅,只不過”“簡直,非常”解時無比較級和最高級形式。

not simply位于句首時可引起主謂倒裝。
