suspect的基本意思是指“猜想”或“懷疑”某人〔事〕,也可指“猜想”或者“懷疑”某事已經(jīng)發(fā)生或?qū)?huì)發(fā)生,主觀色 彩較濃,不一定有根據(jù)。
suspect是及物動(dòng)詞,接名詞、代詞、that從句、wh-從句作賓語(yǔ)。可用于被動(dòng)結(jié)構(gòu)。
suspect還可接以“(to be/as+) n./adj. ”或動(dòng)詞不定式充當(dāng)補(bǔ)足語(yǔ)的復(fù)合賓語(yǔ)。
suspect常接介詞of引出懷疑、推測(cè)的內(nèi)容。
