wage的意思是“工資,工錢”,指相對短的時間內(nèi),以小時為單位,每周或每兩周付給藍(lán)領(lǐng)工人或非技術(shù)工人一次報酬,常用于復(fù)數(shù)形式; 當(dāng)wage表示一次領(lǐng)取的報酬時,常用于單數(shù)形式,當(dāng)wage作“報償,代價”解時,常用于復(fù)數(shù)形式,但句中的謂語動詞須用單數(shù)形式。
v.(動詞)wage的基本意思是“進(jìn)行”“從事”。
wage既可用作及物動詞,偶爾也可用作不及物動詞。用作及物動詞時,可接名詞或代詞作賓語。
wage可接介詞against表示“同…作戰(zhàn)”。
