Christ preached that we should love each other. 基督在布道中說人們應(yīng)該互敬互愛。

The priest preached to the congregation about the Sermon on the Mount. 那位祭司就山中圣訓向會眾說教。

Our teacher always preaches at me about being late for school. 我們老師經(jīng)常就上學遲到之事諄諄勸誡我。

preach的基本意思是牧師為宣揚自己而“講道”。引申可作“勸誡”解。

preach可用作及物動詞,也可用作不及物動詞。用作及物動詞時可接名詞、代詞或that從句作賓語,也可接雙賓語,其間接賓語可轉(zhuǎn)化為介詞to的賓語。用作不及物動詞時常與介詞at, against或to連用。

preach有時還可接以“as/to be+ n./adj. ”結(jié)構(gòu)充當補足語的復(fù)合賓語。
