vote可用作及物動詞,也可用作不及物動詞。用作及物動詞時可接名詞、代詞或that從句作賓語,也可接雙賓語,其間接賓語可轉化為介詞to的賓語。可用于被動結構。
vote還可接以“(to be+) n. ”充當補足語的復合賓語。
vote接that引導的賓語從句時,如作“建議”解,從句的謂語動詞用虛擬語氣,如作“一致認為”解,從句中動詞形式視情況而定。
