anxious是與anxiety同根的形容詞，其含義與anxiety相同。

anxious表示“憂慮的,擔(dān)心”時(shí),可用作定語(yǔ)和表語(yǔ); 用作表語(yǔ)時(shí),其后多接介詞 about , at或for,有時(shí)可跟狀語(yǔ)從句,還可跟that從句。

anxious表示“急于,渴望”時(shí),只用作表語(yǔ),其后多接動(dòng)詞不定式(或其復(fù)合結(jié)構(gòu))、介詞短語(yǔ)或that從句。

anxious后接的that從句中,謂語(yǔ)部分要用虛擬式“should+動(dòng)詞原形”,美式英語(yǔ)中有時(shí)可省去should,表示說(shuō)話時(shí)本該實(shí)現(xiàn)卻還未實(shí)現(xiàn)的愿望。

anxious之前常可用very修飾,但在其比較級(jí)more anxious之前則只能用加強(qiáng)比較語(yǔ)氣的much,而不能用very。

anxious后的補(bǔ)足語(yǔ)有時(shí)可采用全隱不定式的形式,例如:Do you want to know the result?Yes. I'm anxious.“你想知道結(jié)果嗎?”“是的,我想知道。”
