preach的基本意思是牧師為宣揚(yáng)自己而“講道”。引申可作“勸誡”解。

preach可用作及物動(dòng)詞,也可用作不及物動(dòng)詞。用作及物動(dòng)詞時(shí)可接名詞、代詞或that從句作賓語,也可接雙賓語,其間接賓語可轉(zhuǎn)化為介詞to的賓語。用作不及物動(dòng)詞時(shí)常與介詞at, against或to連用。

preach有時(shí)還可接以“as/to be+ n./adj. ”結(jié)構(gòu)充當(dāng)補(bǔ)足語的復(fù)合賓語。
