contest可用作及物動詞,也可用作不及物動詞。用作及物動詞時接名詞或代詞作賓語；用作不及物動詞時常與介詞 against 連用表示“與…競爭”,與介詞for連用表示“為獲得…而競爭”,與介詞with連用表示“與…作斗爭”。
