vote可用作及物動(dòng)詞,也可用作不及物動(dòng)詞。用作及物動(dòng)詞時(shí)可接名詞、代詞或that從句作賓語,也可接雙賓語,其間接賓語可轉(zhuǎn)化為介詞to的賓語??捎糜诒粍?dòng)結(jié)構(gòu)。
vote還可接以“(to be+) n. ”充當(dāng)補(bǔ)足語的復(fù)合賓語。
vote接that引導(dǎo)的賓語從句時(shí),如作“建議”解,從句的謂語動(dòng)詞用虛擬語氣,如作“一致認(rèn)為”解,從句中動(dòng)詞形式視情況而定。
vote后接介詞against表示“投票反對”; 后接介詞for表示“投…的票; 投票支持…”“建議,提議”; 后接介詞on表示“就…表決”; 后接副詞in表示“投票擁護(hù)…上臺執(zhí)政”; 后接副詞out表示“通過投票使…下臺”; 后接副詞through表示“投票通過”; 后接介詞with表示“同…投相同票”。
注意下列三句意思的不同: We are going to vote on the bill.我們將投票就這項(xiàng)法案進(jìn)行表決。We are going to vote against the bill.我們將投票反對這項(xiàng)法案。We are going to vote for the bill.我們將投票支持這項(xiàng)法案。
注意下列兩句意思的不同: They voted him into office.他們投票支持他上臺。They voted him out of office.他們投票把他趕下臺。
