1. 表示累加或連續(xù)的并列連詞
表示累加或連續(xù)的并列連詞主要有and, both…and, not only…but also等。如：
Close the door of fear
behind you, and you will see the door of
faith open
before you. 關(guān)上你身后的恐懼之門，你將會看見信念之門在你前面打開。
It was not
until I came here that I
realized this
place was
famous for not only its
beauty but also its
weather. 直到我來到這里，我才意識到這個地方之所以出名不僅是因為它的漂亮還因為它的天氣。
特別要注意“祈使句+and / or+陳述句”這類句式。如：
Stand over
there and then you’ll be able to see it
better. 站到那兒去，你就能看得更清楚了。
2. 表示轉(zhuǎn)折或?qū)Ρ鹊牟⒘羞B詞
表示轉(zhuǎn)折或?qū)Ρ鹊牟⒘羞B詞主要有but, yet,
while。如：
Sophia waited for a
reply, but none came. 索菲亞等候答復(fù)，但沒有任何答復(fù)。
I woke up with a bad
headache, yet by the
evening the pain had gone. 我醒來時，頭疼得厲害，但到了晚上，疼痛就消失了。
特別要注意while一詞。如：
The
first two
services are free, while the
third costs ?35.00. 前兩項服務(wù)免費，但是第三項服務(wù)要花35英鎊。
In some
places women are
expected to earn
money while men work at home and
raise their children. 在一些地方，婦女要去賺錢，而男人操持家務(wù)并照顧孩子。
3. 表示選擇的并列連詞
表示選擇的并列連詞主要有or,
either…or…,
neither…nor…等。如：
I
often look up the
words I don’t know in the
dictionary or on the
Internet. 我經(jīng)常在字典里或網(wǎng)上查找我不認識的單詞。
I
think Tom, as the head of a big
department,
should either
study regularly or quit his job. 我認為湯姆作為一個大部門的負責人，應(yīng)該要么定期學習要么辭職。
4. 表示結(jié)果的并列連詞
表示結(jié)果的并列連詞主要有so。如：
I like ball
games, so I
believe it will be fun to
learn baseball. 我喜歡球類運動，因此我認為學打棒球挺有趣的。
The
manager has got a good
business sense so the
company is
doing well. 這個經(jīng)理具有很好的商業(yè)意識，所以公司現(xiàn)在運營得很好。
按英語習慣，表示結(jié)果的so不能與表示原因的because套用。
5. 表示原因的并列連詞
表示原因的并列連詞主要有for。如：
Nowadays, there is a
sharp increase in children’s
creativity, for they are
greatly encouraged to
develop their
talents. 如今，由于孩子們被極力鼓勵發(fā)展他們的才能，他們的創(chuàng)造力有了急劇的增長。
6. 表示時間的并列連詞
表示時間的并列連詞主要有when，其意為“這時”“就在這個時候”。如：
We were just
about ready to
leave when it
started to snow. 我們差不多準備要走時，天突然下起了雪來。
I was
driving along,
minding my own business, when the
police stopped my car. 我一直開車前行，好端端的警察就把我攔了下來。
