notice作名詞表示“通知”時，短語at short notice中的at在美式英語中可用on代替；

give notice或have notice一般指離職或遷讓的通知：當后面跟不定式，notice前面可加冠詞a。give notice后面也可跟that從句。 He gave me a notice to leave by the end of the week.他通知我要在這周結(jié)束前離開。 The tenant gave notice that he was going to move on the first day of the next month.這個房客通知說他會在下個月的第一天搬走。

notice作動詞時，后可跟不含to的不定式，但用在被動語態(tài)中時，不定式中一定要含to。 I noticed a boy come out of the house.A boy was noticed to come out of the house.

notice后還可以跟現(xiàn)在分詞，強調(diào)動作過程。 I noticed a boy coming out of the house.我無意間看到一個男孩正從房子里出來。

notice的基本意思是“布告,通告,啟示”,指用以宣傳某事的發(fā)生或傳達某種指示的通知。也可指“預(yù)告,通知”,即告訴某人某事即將發(fā)生。notice還可指提醒某人對某事引起“注意”。引申可指“評價,短評”。

give notice和have notice中的notice,通常指離職、辭職或解雇等的“通知”,當have notice和give notice后面帶有動詞不定式時, notice前有時可加不定冠詞a。

notice后也可接that引起的從句作同位語、現(xiàn)在分詞或動詞不定式作其后置定語。

notice用作動詞的意思是“注意”,指將精力全部集中在某一個人或事上,或者看到了某一事件發(fā)生的全過程并且對此表示關(guān)心。

notice可用作及物動詞,也可用作不及物動詞。用作及物動詞時,后可接名詞、代詞、帶有疑問詞的動詞不定式或that/wh-從句作賓語,還可接以不帶to的動詞不定式、現(xiàn)在分詞或過去分詞充當補足語的復(fù)合賓語。可用于被動結(jié)構(gòu)。

notice作“注意到”解時,多含有“無意間”的意味,但如果用于祈使句結(jié)構(gòu)則沒有這樣的含義。例如:Please notice that the physical examination will take place tomorrow morning.請注意,體檢在明天上午舉行。
